Carmel’s historic Sunset Center was originally a public school in 1926. Through time, the center has transitioned into a state-of-the-art performing art and community center with incredible gothic architecture and superb acoustics. Today, the Sunset Center is regarded as the cultural heart of Carmel. Wide arrays of performances are staged at the center including comedy, global music, rock shows, theatre, and dance.
In addition to out-of-town performances, the Sunset Center also stages several local presenting partners including the Carmel Music Society, Monterey Symphony, Chamber Music Monterey Bay, and the famous Carmel Bach Festival. In accordance with the center’s position as the cultural heart of Carmel, the facility is also home to the Center for Photographic Art, the Forest Theatre Guild, the Arts Council for Monterey County, and the Yoga Center of Carmel.
The Sunset Center is an absolute gem of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The stunning architecture inspires awe, and the spectacular performances are not to be missed. For a full schedule of events, visit the Sunset Center’s website at Sunset Center
